S&P 500 & NASDAQ 100 / Elliott Wave Update 9/5/2022 by Michael Filighera

Friday’s trade was likely a surprise to many as buyers continued to push initially during the Globex session and into the opening.  Both the ES and the NQ reached session highs within the first hour and spent the balance of the session moving steadily lower — in the NQ the high was 12461, while the ES reached 4019.  Session lows were 3906 in the ES and 12040 in the NQ.  Solid downside that was likely more related to expiration, leaving the buy side volume spike on Thursday and early Friday in place. Globex sessions on both Sunday and Monday were very “corrective in nature with the ES and NQ attempting to push above their prospective 50 MA’s.  I present Fibonacci retracements to put parameters around additional buying. And I update the count, which appears to be on the precipice of dropping with a steeper angle of decline.  I also lay out Fibonacci extensions for what the current count as shown is suggesting.
