S&P 500 / Elliott Wave Update 2/17/2022 by Michael Filighera

Thursday’s trade was a complete reversal of Wednesday.  The ES started the session lower and didn’t look back as it dropped for the entire session.  I’ve updated the chart to show the completion of minute wave 2 of Minor wave 3 down.  The minute 3rd wave is already subdividing 3 times thus far which suggests that the ES has dropped into and may have completed the bulk of the “3 of 3” move.  What remains to be completed would be a series of 4th and 5th waves.  At least 3 series of 4th and 5th waves.  I have also included the Fibonacci extensions for minute wave 3 which shows support coming at 4366 to 4358, 4339, 4318, 4300 to 4288, 4250, 4217, 4196 to 4185, 4165 to 4140, and then 4117 to 4107.  As a minimum the NQ should drop to 4250 which is where wave 3 would be equal in length to wave 1. The more common levels suggest a drop to the last two zones included above.  Friday is again an options expiration which may add an additional layer of volatility to the moves.  Corrections notwithstanding I suspect we may have another stronger down day on Friday.
